Dr. Jeff Davis Serves as Master of Ceremonies at Physician Advocacy Day
Dr. Jeff Davis was at the Missouri Capitol Building on March 5, 2025, advocating for healthcare policies on critical issues that impact physicians, patients, and the healthcare industry. Dr. Davis was the Master of Ceremonies for the 2025 Missouri State Medical Association (MSMA) and the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) Physician Advocacy Day. “Advocacy at the state and national levels is a key element of our organizations. I believe any time spent in Jefferson City or Washington D.C. could result in important legislative victories for physicians and our patients,” said Dr. Davis.
The Missouri State Medical Association (MSMA) and the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) serve all the physicians of Missouri. Just recently, MSMA and MAOPS have joined forces on Physician Advocacy Day in Jefferson City, in order for allopathic (MD) and osteopathic (DO) physicians to collaboratively educate Senators and State Representatives on issues that affect physicians and patients across the state of Missouri. Dr. Davis said, “Prior authorization and modernizing women’s health coverage by Medicaid and insurance companies are two of the important issues we are supporting. Discussing physician and healthcare worker shortages in Missouri and developing ways to address and alleviate this issue are always top of mind.”
Dr. Davis is a past president of MAOPS and he is currently serving a three-year term on the American Osteopathic Association Board of Trustees. He is the Assistant Dean in the Department of Clinical Affairs and Assistant Professor in Family Medicine, Preventative Medicine and Community Health at ATSU-KCOM in Kirksville. Additionally, he is on-call at Scotland County Hospital in Memphis in the Women’s Center to deliver babies several shifts per month, as well as several shifts as Hospitalist each month seeing inpatients at the hospital. He is the Medical Director at Clark County Nursing Home and Clark County Ambulance District in Kahoka and Knox County Nursing Home and Knox County Ambulance District in Edina.
