Recognizing Employees for Their Years of Service

At the end of last year, the Scotland County Hospital (SCH) Employee Experience Committee recognized employees for their years of service with the organization and awarded service pins. There are several employees at SCH that have been loyal to the organization for many years and received service pins at the end of 2024. At the top of that list, working 25 years are Donna Small, LPN and Carrie Hamner, PT.

Donna Small is a native of Lancaster and lives in Queen City. She is an LPN and started working at Scotland County Hospital in August 1999. She has worked on the Medical/Surgical Floor, Telehealth, Pharmacy, Clinic Scheduling and many other scheduling roles. She currently works in Utilization Review, Pre-Certification and Scheduling. When Donna is not at work, she enjoys working on genealogy research in cemeteries and courthouses. She has four children, Carna, Gabe (deceased), Aaron and Josh. She has five grandchildren.

Carrie Hamner is a native of Kahoka. She has a degree in Physical Therapy and she is the Therapy Services Supervisor. She started working at Scotland County Hospital in the Therapy Services Department in December 1999. She was initially hired to help cover maternity leave for Janene McNamar. Carrie and her husband, Troy, live in Kahoka. Their daughter, Elly, is in her last semester of nursing school at Truman State University and their son, Kaden is a freshman at Mizzou, where he runs track for the MU Tigers and has hopes of attending medical school. In her free time, Carrie enjoys spending time with family and babysitting her great nieces and nephews.

The Employee Experience Committee recognizes employees, annually, with service pins in five year increments. Other employees receiving service pins the end of 2024: 20 year pin – Ken McMinn, 15 year pins-Meagan Weber and Alisa Kigar, 10 year pins-Tabitha Wittstock, Ashley Harvey, Jenna Williams, Lori Nelson, Dr. Neil Hoyal, 5 year pins-Kim Smith, Bambi Brown, Stephenie Conn, Adrianna Saxton, Lezah Cline and Josh Small.
